"Leap of Faith" by Jamie Blair Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway!!!

“Leap of Faith” by Jamie Blair

Blurb:
Can true love be built on lies? A teen on the run seeks relief and redemption in this gripping, romantic read.
Leah Kurtz has finally found a place to call home, a town where she and baby Addy can live in peace, far from the drug-infested place she grew up. Chris is one of the best parts of her new life, the only person who’s ever made her feel safe. And now that she’s found him, there’s no way she can tell the truth:

Her real name is Faith, not Leah. She’s seventeen, not nineteen. And the baby isn’t hers—Faith kidnapped her.

Faith’s history catches up with her when a cop starts asking questions and Chris’s aunt spots her picture in the newspaper. She knows it’s time to run again, but if Faith leaves, she’ll lose Chris. If Chris is in love with a lie, though, did Faith ever really have him in the first place?

Tamron's 4 1/2 Star review of Leap of Faith by Jamie Blair

Hope and Faith have had a hard life. Growing up with a junkie whore for a mom, 16 year old Faith works her ass off and saves every dime as she waits for graduation, adulthood, and the chance to build her own life. Her older sister, Hope, has found her escape in the form of a college scholarship and will be leaving Faith soon. She'll be stuck at home, alone, with mommie dearest, who has devised a scheme to make a large chunk of quick cash.  Dreading the future, she impulsively steals her moms golden goose and her car and flees, leaving all of the bad shit behind her in search of a new life, a new future, a new Faith...Leah Kurtz definitely has the different life she's searched for. A normal family has taken her in, given her a real home and a new job, and she's fallen in love with Chris. She can finally see the future that she wants, but can she really have it without her past catching up to her?

First things first, I HATE a cliffhanger. It infuriates me to the point that I have to simmer for a few days before I can focus enough on the story itself to write an honest review. Crazy? Maybe, but it is what it is. I'm impatient. I don't like to wait to find out what happens, especially if the Author has done their job and I'm emotionally invested in the characters.  Jamie Blair did just that. She sucked me right in and I was rooting for Faith. Her mother has the morals of a bastard-rat, and I wanted her to get away, which she did. Which also brings me to the second thing: I DID NOT SEE THAT SHIT COMING!!!

Usually, I get a feeling about where the story will take me waaaay in advance.  So, in the rare instance that an Author can throw me a curveball, they're definitely getting bonus points! Jamie blindsided me with this plot! I was shocked for MOST of the book. I just kept thinking: What the hell is she thinking? She's lost her damn mind! God, I hope she pulls this off. There's no way she's getting away with this. Awwwww, Chris is so perfect, I love him.

I don't want to give too much away because I want you, as a reader, to FEEL it for yourself. Which you will. Of this, I have no doubt. What I DO doubt, however, is my own ability to wait patiently for this story to continue. (Jamie Blair, you'd better hurry the hell up! Please and thank you.)

"Leap of Faith" - Excerpt 3

Without having anywhere else to go, I drive to Jasper, past our new house. Addy isn’t screaming anymore, but her sleep is restless. Every once in a while, she lets out a shriek.

I slow the car as we approach 356 Maple Street. The lights upstairs in our room are on. A shadow passes the window, and I strain to see inside. Chris comes into view. His hair’s pulled back. He’s shirtless, and there’s a paintbrush in his hand.

I stop at the curb and watch, hoping he won’t look out and see the car. He’s singing, and every once in a while uses the paintbrush as a microphone.

I laugh, and it echoes through the car. Addy shifts in her car seat, but stays asleep.

Chris bends, disappearing from sight for a second, then straightens and raises a Coke can to his lips as he wipes his sweaty chest with a white paint rag. A tool belt hugs his hips.

I feel hot all of a sudden and crack my window. My forehead’s slick, and I wipe it with the bottom of his t-shirt. I don’t want to leave, but the longer I stay, the higher my chances of being caught spying on him.
